The college has received the designation of Tree Campus USA for 2011 from the Arbor Day Foundation. This will be publicly recognized at MCC's Arbor Day 2012 celebration. Dianne Feyerherm gathered data and submitted the application with support from the Campus Tree Advisory Committee.
